Overall, I quite enjoyed the desserts, but the guys actually didn’t enjoy them. If you enjoy desserts that aren’t too sweet, then you’ll enjoy these. The guy both ordered a Mango Slushy and it was the worst mango slush I’ve had before. However, we let the server know and they quickly said they could remove it from our bill. So in terms of service, they were pretty nice about fixing things for us. Goodall Park is a great attraction for tourists who come to eat at this restaurant after long walks.

Here at Sweet Memory our ambianceis almost as good as our authentic Taiwanese food! We are a friendly family restaurant thatprovides satisfying flavors as well as a comfortable setting for you and yourfamily to gather together. All in all, Sweet Memory Desserts is a very unique dessert shop in Richmond and surprisingly, I would come back to have more of their savoury items instead of dessert. Usually when you order oden, you can ask to have a cup of their broth (it’s one of the things that make it so delicious!), so we asked for a bowl of it as well.

You can enjoy the classic food and beverages passed down throughout our history while sitting in our retro-decorated storefront. To start, we ordered the Homemade Brown Sugar Cake which is sort of like a jelly but dusted with brown sugar. Not for everyone as the boys at our table did not enjoy it.

We aim to be the go-to place for families to congregate in and enjoyeach other’s company. They serve something called Guandong Boils which I took as something similar to Odeng or Oden. We chose the radish ($1.25/pc), pork blood cake ($2.25), and Hsin Chiu meat balls ($3.75). As much as I usually love oden, I found the items pretty bland and not worth the price. We also tried the Cold Tofu Pudding of which you can also customize with different toppings.

The Chan Yi Turkey on Rice ($6.50) was also another big hit item at our table. It had roasted or steamed turkey (dark meat) with a savoury soy like dressing on top of rice. Even though it didn’t taste as good as the Taiwanese meat sauce on rice, it was still one of our favourites. Even though they are a dessert shop, they actually have quite a few savoury items. Since we didn’t have dinner yet, we decided to share a couple of dishes. A lot of people who enjoy Taiwanese food know of Memory Corner, the little authentic Taiwanese restaurant across from Richmond Center.

We decided to go with the Three Coloured Taro and Yam Balls which are hidden under the jelly. The jelly was really refreshing and lightly flavoured with jasmine tea. Sweet Memory is the sister restaurant of Memory Corner and I’ve heard great things about this spot. The interior transports you to olden days in Taiwan as it is dimly lit, even on a sunny afternoon. They mainly offer Taiwanese desserts, but they also have a few savoury dishes. The decor is really interesting, with the wooden tables and benches, but to be honest, the seating is not the most comfortable.
