Mary Jane’s flamboyance and ‘life of the party’ personality (a mask in reality) were written as a contrast to Gwen, being more on Peter’s intellectual and emotional wavelength. Throughout her initial appearances, Mary Jane was written as a foil to Peter’s initially intended soulmate, Gwen Stacy, with her extroverted, fun-loving personality (a mask for her troubled home life) contrasting with Gwen being more like Peter in demeanor and intellect. Since then, she has gone on to become Spider-Man’s main love interest and later his wife (as Mary Jane “MJ” Watson-Parker) before their marriage was sold to Mephisto; Mary Jane has also served as a supporting character to Iron Man and Venom.

Kindred tells Mary Jane the time has come to face her own sins and opens a doorway to Hell. Over time, the visits from Kindred became less frequent and Beck let his guard down, believing himself to be free, until Kindred had use for him again. Mysterio escapes, taking MJ with him, promising her that the ‘devil will get his due’ Beck takes Mary Jane to his old studios, he reveals to her of his prior demise and descent into hell, but that he was offered a chance at renewed life by Harry Osborn. During the “Sinister War” storyline, Peter and Mary Jane eventually attend the premiere of MJ’s new movie, and Peter is formerly introduced to Cage McKnight, still in the dark over his true identity. Soon after filming started, Mary Jane discovered Mysterio’s disguise as the movie’s producer, who swore to her that this project was supposed to be an authentic depiction of his life.

Earth X

After Peter’s company went belly up during the “Secret Empire” storyline and he got a new career as the Daily Bugle’s science editor, Mary Jane started being more supportive of Peter pin up online casino getting his life back on track. Peter and MJ scramble to save May’s life, rushing her from hospital to hospital while trying to maintain their fragile cover of anonymity.

The Civil War events forced Peter to stage a secret transfer of Mary Jane out of Stark Mansion, feeling that with the loss of his secret identity and his doubts about Tony Stark’s ideas, Mary Jane had become a hostage in a luxurious house. Peter’s encounter with the supernatural Spider-Wasp Shathra eventually leads to the two of them flying to New York and Los Angeles to see each other.

Her good humor is her means of compensating for and escaping from her deep unhappiness over the growing tension in her family. In turn, her life among the super hero community allowed Mary Jane to develop her aforementioned skills when confronting dangers. Mary Jane Watson is an accomplished professional actress, dancer, and model, allowing her to gain skill sets complimentary to her being in the life of a super hero.

Peter said in response that he was not ready to live without his aunt. In despair, Peter was soon approached by Mephisto and told that there was a way to save Aunt May’s life. Mary Jane spent most of the time sitting next to May’s bed or invigorating Peter. He sought the help of Dr. Strange and found that even magic couldn’t help him save Aunt May’s life. Later, Peter was on a quest to save the life of his Aunt May, who had fallen from a sniper’s bullet intended for him. Mary Jane was glad to live in luxurious rooms with her beloved and made friends with some fellow super heroes, something she had long wanted to do.

After the circumstances of Peter regaining his secret identity, the two took a break from each other to be intermittent friends focusing on themselves. However, even that had not been able to keep them away for a long time and they would once again resume, further reaffirming Mary Jane’s own belief that her destiny was to remain with Peter. Even Mephisto points out that the love between Peter and Mary Jane was very rare, which encouraged him to want to take it from them through his Faustian deal. Because of her coexistence with his super hero life, while she initially suffered a great deal of stress and insecurity from worrying about him, Mary Jane would improve her perception of herself as she matured. In fact, her relationship with Peter was one of the factors that most defined Mary Jane.

When Mary Jane finally finished college, she left New York to help her Aunt Anna settle down in Florida. Though they remained friends, Mary Jane continually grew upset over Peter constantly risking his life and breaking dates in order to fight various villains and criminals as Spider-Man. She briefly dated star quarterback Brad Davis, but the relationship didn’t last. Mary Jane broke off her relationship with Harry Osborn as he was becoming more and more unstable following the death of his father, Norman. It was the first time the pair met while Peter was in his Spider-Man costume. With the entanglement of these relationships, jealousy and rivalry were underlying constants between Stacy, Osborn, Parker and Watson.
